4 liver transplants. Less than 30 hours. A week I will always remember.

Dr. Prashant Kadam Invited as Panellist at LTSICON 2026, Pune

Dr. Prashant Kadam at Grand Rounds in Hepatology 2026

Privileged to be part of a remarkable transplant milestone at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital, where our team completed four liver transplants, including two cadaveric liver transplants and a living donor swap pair, performed back-to-back.

As a liver transplant surgeon, this was a deeply meaningful experience. Every transplant carries a story of courage, trust, precision, and hope.

On the same day, two deceased organ donations also enabled multiple life-saving transplants, including lungs, kidneys, heart, and cornea donation.

My deepest respect goes to the donor families, whose selfless decision gave others a second chance at life. I also remain grateful to the living donors and recipient families for their trust during such an important moment.

Organ donation can transform many lives. One decision can give someone another chance.

Dr. Prashant Kadam was invited as a panellist at LTSICON 2026, held in Pune on 20th and 21st June 2026.

He spoke on the topic “Challenges in Acute-on-Chronic Liver Failure Going for Transplantation”, an important and clinically demanding area in liver transplantation.

Acute-on-chronic liver failure, also known as ACLF, is one of the most complex conditions in liver care. It often requires timely decision-making, careful transplant evaluation, and close coordination between medical and transplant teams.

As a liver transplant and HPB surgeon, Dr. Kadam shared his perspective on managing such high-risk patients and the challenges involved in deciding when transplantation is appropriate.

Representing the liver transplant and HPB programme at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre, this participation reflects Dr. Kadam’s continued involvement in advanced liver care, transplant discussions, and academic medical forums.

The session provided a meaningful platform to discuss real-world challenges in liver transplantation and exchange insights with experts working in the field.

Dr. Prashant Kadam participated in the Grand Rounds in Hepatology 2026, INASL Mid-Term Meeting, held at The St. Regis Mumbai.

The academic meeting focused on important clinical discussions in hepatology, liver disease management, and liver transplantation. Such forums bring together specialists to exchange insights on complex cases, evolving treatment approaches, and evidence-based patient care.

As a liver transplant and HPB surgeon, Dr. Kadam’s participation reflects his continued commitment to advanced liver care, ongoing academic learning, and multidisciplinary medical collaboration.

Events like these play an important role in strengthening clinical understanding and improving decision-making in challenging liver-related conditions.
